Biography

Cheng Lu is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation and an Early Career Research Fellow at the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship. His research interests span social innovation, civil society organizations, corporate social responsibility, and state-society relations. One of Cheng’s current projects explores China’s social entrepreneurship development, specifically how the idea and practice of social entrepreneurship have been translated and adapted to the Chinese context over the past two decades. Beyond his work at Oxford, Cheng has developed a diverse network through various international research and industry initiatives. Passionate about his field, Cheng seeks to bridge the gap between theory and practice by liaising with policymakers, certifiers, funders, and intermediaries in a joint effort to foster an enabling ecosystem for social innovation in China.
