Biography
Daniel Jason M. Maches is the Co-Founder of Barlig Rainforest Coffee, an agroecological farm project that pilots sustainable coffee production while preserving rainforests and their biodiversity. He also co-founded Banolmi, a social enterprise that serves as a platform for marketing ecologically-grown coffee, heirloom crops, sustainably sourced wild tea, and organic produce. Through Banolmi and Barlig Rainforest Coffee, Maches has represented his indigenous community and advocacies to local and international events, highlighting their role in contributing to global sustainability through grassroots solutions. He also co-founded a Slow Food Community that champions forest conservation through nature-based solutions such as rainforest coffee farming which has become a model in various communities in the Philippines.
Maches graduated with a degree in BS in Development Communication, major in Development Journalism.
