Biography
Ekenem Isichei is a strategic leader in policy advocacy, communications, and public affairs, currently serving as Deputy Director of Policy Advocacy and Communications at the Gates Foundation. With a career spanning Energy, Health, ICT, FMCG, and Social Development, he has successfully influenced policies, managed stakeholder relations, and driven impactful advocacy initiatives across Africa, Europe, and North America.
Previously, he was a senior advisor at Albright Stonebridge Group and a director at the Corporate Council on Africa, where he played a key role in strengthening U.S.-Africa trade and investment relations. His expertise in political risk analysis, business performance optimization, and strategic partnerships has made him a trusted advisor to both public and private sector leaders.
A mechanical engineer by training, he holds degrees from the University of Michigan and a master’s in Engineering Management, with executive education from Harvard and Wharton.
