Elena Bonometti is a well-regarded management professional applying global business development strategies toward improving communities's well-being. After expanding community development programmes for African women via the United Nations and Embassies of France and Italy, Ms. Bonometti turned to executing ambitious World Bank strategies to improve the businesses and health of women in Africa. She was Director of Programme Operations for Marie Stopes International in Kenya until October 2015.
She joined Tostan, in Dakar, Senegal, in January 2017, and has been appointed Chief Executive Officer starting September 1st. She has stepped down from the CEO position in December 2024, and is currently supporting the leadership transition at Tostan.
Ms. Bonometti holds a Global Executive MBA from Georgetown-ESADE, a Master of International Relations from Sciences Po (Paris), and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science at University of Trieste.
