Elizabeth Brown

Biography

Elizabeth serves as Executive Director at Building Markets, a global network that creates opportunities for small businesses so that all people have the opportunity to rise. Since 2004, Building Markets has helped entrepreneurs secure $1.5 billion in contracts or loans and generate over 75,000 jobs in their communities. Previously, she was Head of Partnerships at Building Markets and has also held roles at the International Rescue Committee, Devex, and Atlantic Media. Elizabeth holds a BA from Georgetown University and is currently pursuing an Executive Global Master’s in Management at the London School of Economics, where she is a Hinrich Global Trade Leader Scholar. She has lived and worked in Nairobi, Addis Ababa, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles and now calls New York City home.
