Biography
Emiliana García is a newsroom leader driving innovation and collaboration in journalism across Latin America. Born in Argentina, she studied Social Communication at the University of Buenos Aires and began her career as a radio and television producer. In 2007, she moved to Costa Rica and joined La Voz de Guanacaste, a bilingual newspaper. Over the next 12 years, she led its transformation from a small local print publication into an award-winning digital media outlet recognized for its investigative journalism and hyperlocal storytelling.
In 2019, García co-founded the Latin American Center for Investigative Journalism (CLIP), a nonprofit organization in Costa Rica specializing in cross-border, collaborative investigations. As CLIP’s general manager, she oversees groundbreaking journalism projects and spearheads technological innovations that strengthen regional investigative reporting.
