As Founder and Director of Awana Digital, Emily has spent her career working in solidarity with frontline communities using technology to defend human rights and environmental justice. Emily began her career as a youth journalist, which informed her commitment to building technology with - not for - local communities. For over a decade, Awana Digital has supported frontline communities to map and monitor over 20 million hectares of rainforest and grasslands, halt mining and oil concessions, and stem the tide of deforestation in biodiverse regions.
