Esther Wang

Biography

Esther Wang is an advisor to winners of the Elevate Prize. She was co-founder of IDinsight, a global non-profit that brings the best data to decisions in global development. Esther served as a Founding Partner, COO, and interim co-CEO, based in Zambia and Kenya for 11 years. Esther was a partner at The Bridgespan Group, advising non-profits and philanthropy. Esther was a consultant with Bain & Company, helped launch Shokay, a social enterprise in the Tibetan Plateau, and co-led several other not-for-profits. Esther holds joint BS/BA degrees from the University of Pennsylvania’s Huntsman Program. She also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and MPA from Harvard Kennedy School. Esther was a fellow at Harvard's Center for Public Leadership, an Echoing Green Fellow, and a Presidential Leadership Scholar. She serves on the Boards of StrongMinds and advises Imago Dei Fund, Agency Fund, and Mighty Ally. She lives in Nairobi with her family of 5, plus a few chickens.
