Evan Bloom is Co-Founder and Executive Director of Root Change, a pro-equity social change organization that helps communities and social innovators test and scale durable solutions to social and economic challenges. For more than three decades, he has worked alongside locally led organizations across the Global South and the United States, advancing action research, systems strengthening, and lean experimentation in over 40 countries. He is known for designing social labs grounded in radical equality, collaboration, and community ownership, and for using systems mapping and real-time network analysis to shift power and decision-making toward local actors. Evan is also advancing generative AI for social change, developing multi-agent systems and trust architectures that define rules for data use, clarify human accountability, and support transparent, equitable collective decision-making. He previously served as Vice President for Capacity Building at Pact.
