Felipe Arango

Biography

Felipe joined Fair Trade USA as COO in December 2023 and now serves as CEO and President. With over 25 years of experience in sustainable development, he has worked as a social entrepreneur, activist, educator and advisor across various sectors and geographies worldwide. Previously, he was a Technical Advisor for the TNFD and the World Bank, helping shape global frameworks to align finance with nature-positive outcomes. He also co-founded BSD Consulting, serving as Global CEO for seven years, expanding operations globally and advancing social norms (i.e. Global Reporting Initiative, Integrated Reporting , Certified Welcoming and Accountability 1000) Prior, he engaged over a decade with FLO-CERT and Fairtrade International as an auditor, trainer, and consultant, working closely with rural communities, Indigenous Peoples and workers across the Americas. Based in Colombia, he is a proud father of two daughters and an advocate for social justice, nature and future generations.
