Fidele Rutayisire

Biography

Fidele Rutayisire is the founder and Executive Director of the Rwanda Men’s Resource Center (RWAMREC), established in 2006. A lawyer by training with a Master’s in Gender and Development and a postgraduate degree in Peacebuilding, he leads transformative programs like Bandebereho, promoting caregiving, violence prevention, and healthy relationships. Under his leadership, RWAMREC has expanded regionally, addressing gender-based violence and advancing financial inclusion for women. In 2008, he led a global petition against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in Kenya’s post-election violence and won the 2011 GBV Prevention Network “What’s Your Way” competition. Fidele continues to inspire by engaging men as allies in achieving gender equity and human rights.
