Furahini Michael

Biography

Furahini Michael is a Tanzanian young woman leader with over 7 years of experience in girls' and women rights advocacy. She is effective in building meaningful partnerships to create collaborative opportunities for the welfare of girls and young women. As a young woman who grew up in a community with gender stereotypes, she has a keen interest in working to ensure that girls are confident, own their voices, and can stand for their rights. She is currently the Programs Manager at Msichana Initiative, a youth and young women-led organization that uses the power of girls' agency and policy advocacy to advance girls' rights.
Over the years Furahini has been working in different local NGOs and INGOs to promote equality for girls and women, youth economic empowerment, and advocating for the reform of discriminatory Laws. She feels alive whenever she sees children happy and striving to become the best leaders of their own lives.
