Biography
Gabriel Boc is leading the Green Climate Fund’s food systems transformation initiatives in Africa in his current role as Senior Agriculture and Food Security Specialist. In this capacity, Gabriel works with a broad coalition of partners in government, private sector, social enterprises, and international financial institutions, organisations and NGOs in originating, structuring and appraising investments to respond to developing countries’ climate ambitions and priorities. Over the past three years, Gabriel led the approval of over US$500 million in investments in support of climate resilient agriculture and rural livelihoods.
Prior to joining the GCF, Gabriel worked at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the World Bank, and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), covering a broad range of geographies. Still, Africa is closest to his heart, having lived in Ethiopia and conducting fieldwork in over half of the continent’s fifty-four countries.
