Biography

Dr. Grace Mabiala-Maye is a Congolese medical doctor and public health researcher dedicated to advancing maternal and child health (MCH) in underserved communities. Her journey began as a physician providing critical healthcare to rural populations in the Republic of Congo, where she witnessed significant barriers to care. This experience propelled her to pursue a Master of Public Health specializing in MCH and later a Ph.D. in Health Services and Policy Research at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Her research focuses on integrating doula care within perinatal systems to improve maternal and infant health outcomes, particularly in rural settings. She also contributes to health equity initiatives, such as increasing colorectal cancer screening among African Americans through the BEAT Cancer Project. A Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Mabiala-Maye aspires to develop evidence-based policies that enhance healthcare access and outcomes for vulnerable populations globally.
