Grace Matlhape is the founding CEO of SmartStart, an early childhood care and education delivery organisation, using a social franchising model to expand access to quality early learning in South Africa, focusing on the most excluded. Grace is a social justice professional with a keen sense of whole systems transformation to tackle intractable societal challenges. She has worked in public health, mental health, youth development and early childhood development, including as one of the founders of SmartStart Early Learning, in South Africa.
