Gregory Dees

Biography

J. Gregory Dees is Professor of the Practice of Social Entrepreneurship and cofounder of the Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. In 2007, the Aspen Institute and Ashoka recognized his pioneering work with their first Lifetime Achievement award in Social Entrepreneurship Education. He has published extensively on social entrepreneurship, and previously taught at the Yale School of Management, Harvard Business School, and Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. He has also worked on economic development in the Central Appalachian region of the United States, and served as a consultant with McKinsey & Company.
