Biography

Heela Yoon is an internationally recognised leader in climate action, peacebuilding, and water security. As the Founder and Executive Director of the Afghan Youth Ambassadors for Peace Organisation (AYAPO), she has led initiatives that have provided access to clean water and wells for over 45,000 families in Afghanistan. Through peacebuilding dialogues, she works to prevent conflicts related to water and land, ensuring sustainable solutions for communities affected by environmental challenges. She serves as an External Board Member for the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), advising on policies that support climate resilience and community empowerment. Her contributions to peace and sustainability have been recognised by the United Nations, OSCE, and the Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice. Passionate about mental health and resilience, Heela is also the creator of MUSKA, a mobile app designed to provide accessible tools for stress management and well-being. She has spoken in 22+ countries, featured on BBC, and earned Chevening and Fulbright Scholarships. Dedicated to mentoring young changemakers, she champions climate resilience and peacebuilding worldwide.
