Biography

Jessica Vernon, MD — CEO. Jessica is the founder & CEO of Maisha Meds and a qualified medical doctor. She has overseen Maisha Meds' growth to support over 4,000 pharmacies and clinics in four countries in Africa that provide care for over 20 million patients every year and direct improvement in quality of care for over 1million malaria patients, with this work validated via several randomized control trials. She previously was on the founding team of IPA / Evidence Action’s Dispensers for Safe Water program as it raised $10 million and grew to support over a million people in East Africa. She was also on US healthcare startup Lyra Health’s founding team and served as a healthcare consultant at McKinsey & Company. She has a BA with honors Phi Beta Kappa in Economics from Stanford, after which she served as a Fulbright Scholar to South Africa. She completed her medical training at Stanford School of Medicine.
