Biography
B. Kainoa Azama, has made global impact through his tireless efforts in community activation. Since high school, Kainoa has served in numerous leadership roles as the former State President of the FFA Hawaiʻi State Association, President of the Associated Students of the University of Hawaiʻi, Chair of the Honolulu Youth Commission, and the UN accredited Heirs to Our Oceans. He continues to serve island Earth as a Member of the first-ever State Department Indigenous Youth Cohort; Steersperson of the Pacific Risk Management ʻOhana (PRiMO) Indigenous Knowledge and Environment Working Group; Trainer for Fresh Tracks; Director for the Koʻolaupoko Hawaiian Civic Club; the Hawaiʻi Hub Coordinator for the Rising Voices Changing Coast (RVCC) Hub; and the recently named Administrative Director of the Olohana Foundation. An active youth leader, Kainoa is a recipient of well-respected awards, such as the Star of Oceania – Global Moana Youth Leadership Award; and UNITY – Earth Ambassador.
