Biography
B. Kainoa Azama
is a recognized community leader who, has made global impact through his tireless efforts in community activation. Since high school, Kainoa has served in numerous leadership roles as the former State President of the FFA Hawaiʻi State Association, President of the Associated Students of the University of Hawaiʻi, Chair of the Honolulu Youth Commission, and Cultural Trainer for UN accredited Heirs to Our Oceans. He continues to serve island Earth as a Member of the first-ever State Department Indigenous Youth Cohort; Steersperson of the Pacific Risk Management ʻOhana (PRiMO) Indigenous Knowledge and Environment Working Group; Trainer for Fresh Tracks; and the Hawaiʻi Hub Coordinator for the Rising Voices Changing Coast (RVCC) Hub. An active youth leader, Kainoa is a recipient of well-respected awards, such as the Star of Oceania – Global Moana Youth Leadership Award, UNITY – Earth Ambassador, and the Kama Aliʻi Outstanding Young Hawaiian Civic Member.
