Kate Hampton

Biography

Kate became CEO of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation in March 2016, having run CIFF’s Climate Change team since 2009. Kate is the chair of the European Climate Foundation. Previously she's served on the advisory committees for the presidents of COP28, COP26, & the inaugural Africa Climate Summit. Prior to CIFF, Kate career spanned roles in government, finance, consulting, a think tank & NGOs, including at Climate Change Capital, where she was Head of Policy. She's also advised policy makers in several roles, including as Senior Policy Advisor for the United Kingdom’s G8 & EU presidencies in 2005 & as a sherpa to the EU High Level Group on Competitiveness, Energy & the Environment in 2008. She has received multiple awards for her work, including a First Class Order of Zayed II (UAE), a Friendship Award (China) in 2024, and an OBE (UK) in 2023.
