Biography

Katie Oyan oversees The Associated Press’ Local News Success initiative, which was launched in 2022 to support and empower local newsrooms across the U.S. Her team facilitates content sharing among AP members and nonprofit news organizations, holds trainings, assists with editorial collaborations and produces a popular series of reporting guides aimed at helping local newsrooms tell important national and global stories for their audiences. Katie started her career at newspapers before joining the AP in 2005.
