Biography
Kellen Msseemmaa overcame financial constraints and cultural challenges to graduate from Makerere University as an economics teacher in 2008. Inspired by her own journey and the barriers she saw girls facing in education, she founded Empowered Girls, transforming it from a school club into a thriving NGO that has impacted over 7,100 girls. A Segal Family Foundation African Visionary Fellow, Kellen is also a certified mentor trainer in nonviolent communication. She lives in Arusha, Tanzania, with her family, dedicated to empowering girls through education and mentorship.
