Lalit Gahatraj

Biography

I have been working with the NYF since 2004. I joined the organization as a Nutrition Outreach worker for its nutrition program and I served 11 years in this capacity. After the earthquake in 2015, I led the post-earthquake reconstruction project as a manager. Since 2023, I am leading an ambitious community development project of the NYF, namely Caste Equality Project, in the capacity of Project Coordinator. The primary goal of this project is to uplift the socio-economic status of Dalit communities in Saptari District of Southern Terai of Nepal. Since I myself coming from a Dalit family, I have a deep passion to help my community to rise up from this abject poverty via; education and economic empowerment.
