Biography

Lena Slachmuijlder is the Chief Strategy and Policy Officer for the Christchurch Call Foundation, leading policy and programs to prevent and reduce violent extremism with a mult-stakeholder approach. With 30 years of experience—spanning journalism, peacebuilding, and 21 years in Africa—Lena has played a pivotal role in advancing global peace initiatives. She Co-Chairs the Council on Tech and Social Cohesion, harnessing technologists, peacebuilders, researchers and policy influencers to influence tech design to strengthen social cohesion. She previously served as Search for Common Ground's Senior Vice President of Programs, leading program impact across 35 countries.
