Biography
Lola Garcés Calabria is a peacebuilding professional with 12 years of experience working in the INGO sector. Based in Kenya, she is currently responsible for leading program development in Africa with Search for Common Ground, the world's largest peacebuilding dedicated nonprofit. Her team secures +$40 million in funding yearly to support projects on the frontlines of conflict across five geographies: Sahel, Lake Chad Basin, Great Lakes, Sudans and Horn of Africa.
Lola is passionate about designing projects that shift stakeholder incentives for peace, and that creatively connect the dots between high-level peace processes and grassroots peacebuilding. Her past experience includes supporting Track II diplomacy (US-Iran relations, Syria, Western Sahara), designing efforts to prevent and counter violent extremism (P/CVE), and leading the development of Search's first Horn of Africa strategy, centered in Somalia.
