Biography

Lwando Xaso is a lawyer, writer, speaker, an aspiring historian, and the author of Made in South Africa. Her outlook on how change happens was profoundly impacted by her experience of clerking at the Constitutional Court of South Africa for Justice Edwin Cameron. It is at the Court where she understood the importance of not just law but of art and creativity.

Today she is a trustee of the Constitutional Court Trust. And because of her strong creative streak, inspired by the creativity she sees in constitutionalism, she is also a partner of the Moleskine Foundation, a non-profit organisation that pursues a mission of “Creativity for Social Change,” investing in the power of creative thinking and doing in changing the world.

Together with the Moleskine Foundation she is establishing the Creativity for Social Change Hub here in South Africa. As a lawyer and a creative Lwando believes that transformation is not just a legal endeavor but a deeply creative one.
