Biography
Ostalinda Maya brings two decades of progressive experience in non-discrimination, justice, gender, and political leadership.
She began her career at the European Roma Rights Centre, eventually becoming Coordinator of Research and Advocacy. In this role, she led multi-country research teams documenting human rights violations and authoring several published reports.
Ostalinda spent over a decade at the Open Society Foundations (OSF) where she spearheaded efforts to end school segregation and incubated Romani lawyers' associations. Later, as Senior Program Manager at OSF global programs, she led the gender justice portfolio.
In 2024, she joined the emerging Colmena Fund as Program Lead, where she develops and implements the fund's overall grant-making strategy.
Educated in Development Studies and Law, she has lived in Budapest, London, Mexico, and New York. She currently serves as Vice-President of the Romani Council of Andalucía.
