Biography
Marya is Academic Director of the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and Professor of Organizations and Impact at the University of Oxford. Bridging theory and practice, Marya leads the Skoll Centre’s research on organizing, financing, measuring, and scaling systemic social change, and she brings insights from this work into learning labs for social innovators at Oxford and worldwide. Marya’s work is grounded in her experience bringing together diverse voices and perspectives to tackle complex challenges, and in the transformative power of empowering others. Her research has been published in leading academic and practitioner journals, including Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, and Stanford Social Innovation Review. She holds a BA in Social Studies, an MA in Sociology, and a PhD in Organizational Behavior from Harvard University, and an MBA from Stanford University.
