Maryangel is the Executive Director of Women Enabled International (WEI). For 15 years, she has been a leader and advocate for human rights focusing on diversity, inclusion, gender, and disability. She has worked with political institutions, the private sector, and higher education.
She is a passionate changemaker, committed to transforming inclusion. She joined WEI after leading the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where she developed strategies to promote equality for marginalized groups. She was recently appointed President of the Council for Persons with Disabilities of Nuevo León, Mexico, a five-year role to develop a State Plan for Disability Inclusion. She is also an organizational consultant, working with over 100 international organizations.
