Biography

Maura Donlan is a Senior Philanthropic Advisor who works with leaders and organizations committed to centering justice and equity and to moving capital off the sidelines. Over the past 20+ years, she has advised high-capacity philanthropists, foundations, and social impact organizations on deploying resources in ways that shift power, support proximate leadership, and drive systems change. She has held senior roles across philanthropy, advocacy, and global development, including leadership positions at Adeso, the Chandler Foundation, Milken’s Center for Strategic Philanthropy, Omidyar Network, and GMMB, as well as earlier work on Capitol Hill, the UN system, and Ted Turner’s family office. She is the former Editor-in-Chief of Social Investor, an award-winning peer-to-peer magazine challenging philanthropists to be braver and more accountable. Known for connecting unlikely dots and asking uncomfortable questions, Maura favors ambitious, human, and impatient philanthropy.
