Michael Schwall

Biography

Dr. Michael Schwall is a Senior Consultant for Bayer Foundation , initiating and managing of projects focused on Health, Agriculture, and Women Empowerment across Sub-Saharan Africa with a reach of more than 25 Mio people. With over 20 years of experience at Bayer AG, he has held various leadership roles and contributed to the development of business strategies for Africa.
Dr. Schwall began his career as a plant physiologist and biotechnologist, working at the University of Freiburg and the University of Adelaide. He later managed several startup companies in the fields of plant biotechnology and vegetable seeds. Subsequently, he joined a German company, where he served as a biotechnologist and breeder specializing in maize, vegetables, and canola.
At Bayer, Dr. Schwall worked in chemical research, global regulatory affairs, and marketing in both Germany and the USA, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the global agricultural and biotechnology sectors.
