Biography

Minhaj Chowdhury is Founder and CEO of Drinkwell, a climate-resilient water infrastructure company operating 700+ treatment plants across Bangladesh and India, serving 3 million people daily.

A Johns Hopkins alumnus and former Fulbright Fellow, Minhaj discovered Bangladesh’s arsenic contamination crisis in 2012—sparking Drinkwell’s founding. The company’s patented HIX-Nano™ technology removes arsenic and fluoride at 70% lower cost than reverse osmosis, delivered through public-private partnerships with utilities like Dhaka WASA and Indian state PHEDs.

In 2026, Minhaj received the Schwab Foundation Award for Social Entrepreneurship at Davos. He was the first Forbes Under 30 Impact Challenge winner (2017).
Drinkwell is backed by TPG Rise Fund, Global Innovation Fund, and Danone Communities, with World Bank and Asian Development Bank as channel partners.
