Biography

Minhaj Chowdhury is the CEO/Co-Founder of Drinkwell, a water social enterprise providing safe drinking water to 1.5M+ across Bangladesh & India. Drinkwell blends HIX-Nano, a proprietary ion exchange resin capable of removing arsenic, fluoride, and other impurities from groundwater while recovering 90%+ of raw water and lasting 5 years before needing to replaced, with a direct public-private partnership business model with water utilities. Prior to founding Drinkwell Minhaj was a Fulbright Fellow to Bangladesh with BRAC - the largest NGO in the world - where he researched villager willingness to pay for clean water in 2012. Under Minhaj's leadership, Drinkwell has received awards from the US State Department, India Department of Science & Technology and has been featured by The Economist, BBC, UNICEF, and the World Bank. He is a Johns Hopkins University graduate in Public Health and a 2014 Echoing Green Fellow, 2015 Forbes 30 Under 30 Social Entrepreneur, and 2017 Ashoka Fellow.
