Moana Tepano Contesse

Biography

I'm Moana, 22 years old. I'm an environmental and cultural activist from Rapa Nui (Easter Island, Chile) and a social studies student with a major in Territorial Planning and a minor in Sustainable Development. The last 5 years I've been the president of a Youth Organization from my island, called Mo'a Mau, that seeks to contribute to the island in different aspects, such as environmental protection, cultural preservation and social issues, all of this, to promote and revitalize the "Mo'a" or respect value, fundamental to our ancestral worldview.

I've participated in different local, national and international spaces representing young and indigenous peoples from Rapa Nui, such as, One Young World and Conference of Parties.
