Biography
I was born & brought up in Assam, a state in the far eastern part of India. Completed high school from my village school and joined prestigious Cotton College in Guwahati, the capital city of Assam for intermediate in 1999. Decided to complete my graduation from Delhi University and joined in 2002 and passed out in 2007 after completion of my masters in Political Science. Started working with Pragya, an NGO working in the high altitude of Himalayan region helped me in understanding poverty & exclusion from a different angle. Joined NASVI in 2009 and started advocacy work for the regulation & protection of livelihood of street vendors in the cities and collectivization of street vendors through organizing them. My work with GMR Varalakshmi Foundation helped me in understanding CSR and its current practices in India. My interest on the issues of informal workers, drove me to join Nidan and looking after its strategy of expansion & organizing part. Currently I lead a large team.
