I am the founding CEO of Welcome.US, a civic initiative leading a systemic and cultural transformation in how the United States welcomes newcomers. Through civic engagement and storytelling, we’ve mobilized over 2 million Americans across all 50 states and 26,000 zip codes to volunteer with newcomers making their way as new Americans. With perspective from my multi-sector leadership roles, experience as a first-generation Iranian-American, and deep faith in Americans and America, our work builds the connective tissue, norms of mutual responsibility, and resistance to dehumanizing narratives necessary to support both managed migration solutions and a healthy, pluralist democracy.
