Nicole Rycroft

Biography

Nicole Rycroft is the Founder and Executive Director of Canopy, an award-winning NGO committed to protecting the world’s forests, species, and climate by transforming global supply chains. Drawing on the resilience she developed as an elite level athlete, Nicole leads Canopy in partnering with major global brands, suppliers and investors to move away from outdated “take-make-waste” models and scale Next Gen solutions that prioritize circular, low-impact alternatives.

Nicole was named to The Business of Fashion's 500 for 2024 and took to the TED main-stage to urge the world to end its reliance on forests for paper, packaging, and textiles. She is a member of the UBS Global Visionaries Program, an Ashoka Fellow, and a recipient of the Climate Breakthrough Award and the Meritorious Service Cross of Canada. Nicole firmly believes that no-one wants to join the army of the glum.
