Biography
Omar Waraich is Director, Communications at the Open Society Foundations. He joined the foundations in 2021, working across the Middle East, North Africa, Asia, and other regions on policy advocacy, grant-making, strategic litigation, and communications.
Previously, he was at Amnesty International for several years, most recently as Head of South Asia. He began his career as a journalist, covering international news for TIME Magazine and others.
He has a Master's in International Human Rights Law from the University of Oxford, where he was an Oxford Commonwealth Law Scholar, and a Master's in International Relations from the University of London.
