Biography

Philip Angier is Moderator of Shared Interest Society Limited, the leading provider of finance for fair trade – www.shared-interest.com.  After an early career in banking in the City of London, Philip joined the fair trade organisation Traidcraft as Finance Director in 1987. He later became Chief Executive. An eventful period under Philip’s leadership saw Traidcraft take a leading role in the launch of Shared Interest, Cafedirect, and the FairTrade Mark and the beginning of Traidcraft’s pioneering role in social accounting in the UK. In 2001 Philip left Traidcraft to found Angier Griffin, an independent social economy consultancy in the North East of England. Angier Griffin has built an extensive client portfolio of clients in the public sector, social enterprise sector and voluntary and community sector - www.angier-griffin.com. Philip is Chair of the Advisory Board of CapitaliSE, former Chair of Just Pensions, and a visiting fellow at Northumbria University where he heads the Valuing the Difference project.   He is a business coach and mentor and a director of a number of North East social enterprises.
