Biography
Philipp Schmaelzle cares deeply about climate, energy, water, and enabling technologies.
He trusts that breakthroughs are possible, especially when worthwhile global problems mingle with new possibilities. And he is keen to learn about both.
Philipp serves as the SVP Innovation for Viessmann Group. United behind the purpose of “co-creating living spaces for generations to come”, the Viessmann Group is entrepreneurially focusing on CO2e (avoidance, reduction and removal), food and water globally.
Previously, Philipp has held technical and leadership positions at Google[x], Google, Xerox PARC and Fraunhofer. He is proud to have worked in various blue collar and white collar roles on his way to becoming a German engineer. After many years in California, he has recently located to Munich.
Philipp enjoys teaching occasionally, has founded the IFSS conference and is an author on 50+ publications -- including papers, patents, and patents with non-assert/humanitarian pledges.
