Biography
As the child of Khmer refugees, Prumsodun Ok is committed to breaking cycles of fear, poverty, and violence. He synthesized ideas from art, education, youth development, economic justice, and social entrepreneurship to found and lead Cambodia’s first gay dance company, transforming marginalized young men into “Radical Beauty” (The Bangkok Post). Understanding business and philanthropy as his new creative practices, he seeks to inspire a culture of giving that fosters world-changing connections and a shared, lasting prosperity. Ok is recognized for his service-driven innovation and leadership which create real-world, history-making impacts. He is a Skoll Fellow and TED Senior Fellow, serves on Dance/USA’s Board of Trustees, and has adjudicated applications for the Durfee Foundation and National Endowment for the Arts among others. Ok is determined to move knowledge, power, and resources to those who need it most, and is currently designing and building his lifelong project Kind Council.
