Biography
Dr. Rebecca Katz is a Professor and Director of the Center for Global Health Science and Security. She holds joint appointments at Georgetown University Medical Center and the School of Foreign Service. Her work focuses on the governance of public health emergencies and health diplomacy. From 2004 to 2019 and again from 2021-2024, Dr. Katz was an expert consultant to the U.S. Department of State, including supporting the global response to COVID-19. She is also a senior fellow at Pax sapiens, supporting the pandemic program, a member of the Pandemic Fund Technical Advisory Panel, and a nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council's Africa Center.
