Reza is a foreign and security policy professional with 24 years experience. He spent the first 13 years of his career in the UK government, where he worked on every major international crisis starting with 9/11 and ending with Syria. Reza also served for three years on the UN Security Council, spent time as Middle East adviser to the British Foreign Secretary and, early in his career, negotiated a new arms control protocol.
At Independent Diplomat, Reza has worked with a wide range of clients, including in northern Mali, southern Yemen, Ukraine, the Pacific, Syria and Myanmar; and spanning issues from self-determination, to climate change, cyber resilience, and peace making.
