Biography
Sara Leedom is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of INKOMOKO, a social enterprise focused on financial inclusion for entrepreneurs, mostly refugees, across Africa. With staff in 30 offices in Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Chad, Sara is responsible for the company’s operations, as well as Inkomoko’s HR, IT, Finance, and legal functions as the organization grows to impact nearly 8M people by 2030.
Sara has 25 years of experience growing and managing social impact organizations — a Shell Foundation consultant to IntelleGrow in Mumbai, a consultant to nonprofits in the San Francisco Bay Area, and served as Director of Strategy for the Level Playing Field Institute. She has worked in the areas of affordable housing development, sexual and reproductive health, and racial and economic justice.
Sara has an MBA from Oxford’s Said Business School, is an Echoing Green fellow, and is a beekeeper. She's based in Kigali, Rwanda.
