Biography

Sasha Fisher is the CEO and Co-Founder of Spark MicroGrants. Spark gets funding and decision making directly into the hands of families in villages and neighborhoods. Spark moves resources from prescriptive aid to citizen-driven development. Spark enables families to design and launch their own social impact projects, from improving agriculture to move beyond one meal a day, to building schools for the children, or establishing clinics for reliable access to care. Spark’s approach delivers more than twice the lasting impact at less than half the cost of conventional aid programs, inspiring governments like Rwanda’s to integrate the model nationally across 14,000 villages. The approach has been recognized by the New York Times and Forbes as a leading approach to global development.
