Biography
Dr. Satendra Singh is Director-Professor of Physiology at the University College of Medical Sciences & GTB Hospital, Delhi, India. He is Co-chair of International Council for Disability Inclusion in Medical Education, Commissioner at the Lancet Commission on Disability and Health & member of core group on disability at the National Human Rights Commission, India.
He is a disability justice advocate who has brought many policy reforms including the inclusion of disability competencies in the new medical curriculum in India. He was awarded by the President of India, with the National Award for making the elections in India disabled-friendly & is the first Indian to get the prestigious Henry Viscardi Achievement Award in the USA. He is involved as amicus curiae by the Supreme Court of India for medical admissions of learners with disabilities.
