Dr Scott A. Hale is Director of the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford, where he is an Associate Professor. He is also Director of Research at Meedan, a Skoll-award-winning nonprofit. He leads the Equitable Access to Quality Information Lab (eaqilab), which focuses on developing and applying new machine learning approaches to understand how people access, evaluate, and make use of online information in their daily lives. He is particularly interested in LLM alignment and multilingual Natural Language Processing applications as well as putting research into practice with community and media organizations.
