Biography
Scott is a former Board member and currently Chief External Affairs Officer at Root Capital. He leads the organization's resource mobilization teams responsible for its blended finance structure that capitalizes and supports investment in underserved agricultural enterprises. Scott also oversees Root Capital’s marketing and communications and strategic partnerships functions. He has spent over 20 years collaborating with leading global companies, individual philanthropists, institutional philanthropies, impact investors and social entrepreneurs to drive effective resourcing, strategy and planning for a range of high-impact, mission-driven organizations. This work includes serving in leadership roles at International Rescue Committee, The ONE Campaign and Product (RED), as well as at the foundations of Bill Clinton and Tony Blair and in the Mayor of London’ Office. He is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Art and received his MBA from Boston University.
