Biography
Scott Seydel studied chemistry at Georgia Tech and began his career in textiles before founding The Seydel Companies, which expanded internationally through partnerships and acquisitions. In the 1980s, he shifted focus to renewable, biodegradable, and recyclable products. Scott has served on numerous boards, including the Ellen MacArthur Foundation US, Global Green, and Green Cross. He co-founded the Sustainable Packaging Coalition and helped create The Coalition for Resource Recovery. Scott has also chaired several organizations, including Georgia State University’s Robinson College. He and Pat Mitchell Seydel share six children and thirteen grandchildren.
