Sharif Aly

Biography

Sharif Aly is the President of IRAP, where he leads a global legal advocacy organization working to create a world where refugees and all people seeking safety are empowered to claim their right to freedom and a path to lasting refuge. Prior IRAP, he was the CEO of Islamic Relief USA, an international humanitarian relief and development organization that operates in 40 countries across the world. As CEO, Sharif oversaw a portfolio of over $250 million in active programs dedicated to providing relief and sustainable development solutions to support marginalized and disenfranchised people out of poverty. An attorney by background, he worked in litigation prior to dedicating his career to the nonprofit sector. He is certified in Fundraising Management through the Lily School of Philanthropy at Indiana University and holds multiple certifications in leadership and management. Sharif serves on the American Red Cross National Diversity Advisory Committee and the Board Refugee Council USA.
