Shila Bhatta

Biography

Shila Bhatta is an artist and activist from Kathmandu, Nepal, who is deeply committed to advancing peace and social justice by integrating art, media, and technology. She is a co-founder and Creative Director at Freedom Studio (FS), a youth-led creative initiative that strategically and creatively supports civic mobilization in Nepal and around the South Asia region. She works with the youths and leaders of social movements to empower them with innovative approaches to build their power in society for creative, nonviolent resistance. She strives to develop the leadership and capacities of marginalized citizens, especially youths, in expanding the full potential of the social activism/movement they are leading through leadership approaches, strategic development, nonviolent resistance, artivism, and digital media campaigns.
